This website was made to inform the public about the negative effects of plastic straws. They are contaminating our environment. The fifth graders of Hill Elementary made this site, along with several different resources in hopes of educating you about what is happening to our land, air and sea and how you can make a difference in your community.
About Us
We are the fifth graders at Hill Elementary in Austin, Texas. We decided to advocate about plastic straws because there is a big problem that needs solving! Our teachers shared with us about the problem. We then researched the problem and found many alarming facts and information. While we were browsing the internet we saw a horrible sight; a turtle had been impaled by a plastic straw. This inspired us to create an advocacy website about plastic straws.
